The City Council is asked to approve the appointment of one At-Large Member to the Mobile Home Advisory Board (MHAB), as recommended by Council Liaisons Van Der Mark and McKeon.

Approve the appointment of Kathy Carrick as an At-Large Member of the MHAB through August 4, 2024, the end of term for the current vacancy.

Analysis:
The Mobile Home Advisory Board (MHAB) is an advisory body to the City Council that works on issues to address the quality of life in Huntington Beach's 18 mobile home parks. The MHAB addresses these issues by providing a forum for communication among mobile home residents, park owners, at large residents, and the City Council. The MHAB is comprised of nine members who equally represent mobile home park residents, park owners, and the Huntington Beach community at large.

Following the unscheduled resignation of a previously appointed at-large member in January 2023, the MHAB has had one vacancy for the position. As such, the City duly advertised the vacancy on the City website and at the Civic Center. As City Council Liaisons to the MHAB, Mayor Pro Tem Gracey Van Der Mark and Council Member Casey McKeon reviewed all four (4) active applications and made a recommendation for City Council to appoint Kathy Carrick.
