Statement of Issue:
Each year, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) offers grant funding opportunities aimed at reducing transportation generated pollution that can impact local waterways like Huntington Harbour, Bolsa Chica Wetlands, and the ocean. This Council action requests authorization to apply for grant funding under the OCTA Measure M2 Environmental Cleanup Program, Tier 1, to purchase and install a Trash Trap unit manufactured by StormTrap.
Financial Impact:
The City is requesting up to $500,000 from OCTA to fund the purchase and installation of a Trash Trap unit. The City will be responsible for 20% in local matching funds to be provided as a cash contribution. The projected estimate for is $900,000, and staff will return to the City Council at a future meeting with a request for appropriation of funds.

Analysis:
