STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Annually, the Planning Commission designates members and alternates on various Advisory Boards and Committees. The Advisory Boards and Committees are either City Council directed or required by the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance.
There are two boards in which the Planning Commission members serve as Voting Members. These two boards are the Design Review Board and the Subdivision Committee. Voting members fully participate in the proceedings and vote on recommendations to other approving bodies.
The remaining positions are Liaison in which the Planning Commission members observe the proceedings and report back items of interest to the entire Planning Commission. The Planning Commissioners are not voting members of these particular boards or committees. These Liaison positions are the Environmental Board, Southeast Area Committee, Downtown Economic Development Committee, Sunset Beach Area Council Committee, and Historic Resources Board.
The attached list depicts the current 2019 member assignments on each Advisory Board and Committee as well as the scheduled meeting times and frequency.
Planning Commissioners may communicate any 2020 assignment preferences to the Chair. The reassignment of current positions will be discussed at the January 28, 2020 meeting.
