Statement of Issue:

Resolution No. 2018-80 will recite the facts of the General Municipal Election held in Huntington Beach on the 6th day of November, 2018, declaring the results thereof and such other matters as provided by provisions of the City Charter and the Elections Code of the State of California.

 

Financial Impact:

Funds estimated at $110,000 for the costs of the election were budgeted in FY 2018/19, Elections Account, Business Unit No. 10020101.69300 - Professional Services.

Adopt Resolution No. 2018-80, “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, Reciting the Fact of the General Municipal Election held on November 6, 2018, Declaring the Result and Such Other Matters as Provided by Law.”

Analysis:

The official ballot from the General Municipal Election held in the City of Huntington Beach on November 6, 2018, presented the opportunity to cast votes for four seats for City Council, and one seat for City Attorney.  All seats represented full, four-year terms.  The following persons were nominated for the offices designated to be filled and appeared on the ballot in the random order shown below:
