Statement of Issue:
Resolutions must be adopted at the same City Council meeting to call for and consolidate with the County of Orange to conduct the November 6, 2018, General Municipal Election (election of four members of the City Council, and a City Attorney).

Financial Impact:
Funds estimated at $110,000 have been budgeted in FY 2018/2019 Election Account No. 10010201.69505. Staff to return to Council if actual election costs exceed the budgeted amount.

Recommended Action:

A) Adopt Resolution No. 2018-44, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, Calling for the Holding of a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the Election of Certain Officers as Required by the Provisions of the City Charter;" and,

B) Adopt Resolution No. 2018-45, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to Consolidate a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, with the Statewide General Election to be held on that date Pursuant to Section 10403 of the Elections Code."
