Statement of Issue:
The Fire Battalion Chief classification is assigned to the Fire Department and is represented by the Fire Management Association (FMA). Modifications to the class specification are requested in accordance with Personnel Rule 12 regarding amendments to the City's Classification Plan.

Do not approve the updates to the job class specification and direct staff accordingly.

Analysis:
Modifications to the Fire Battalion Chief job class specification are recommended to: 1) update to include supervision received and exercised language; 2) update to "Essential Duties" section; 3) update to the "Education" section; 4) update to required "License/Certifications" section; 5) update to include "Special Conditions" language.

The Fire Department has collaborated with Human Resources on the recommended changes, and FMA has reviewed the proposed changes.
