Analysis:

The Huntington Beach Public Library (HBPL), located at 7111 Talbert Avenue, first opened its doors in 1975 and has since served as a virtual resource for education, literacy, and community engagement.  In recognition of its 50th anniversary, a commemorative plaque has been designed to honor this milestone.

To celebrate the Huntington Beach Public Library’s rich history and contributions, a bronze plaque will be installed outside of Central Library.  The proposed plaque will include the City’s seal, HBPL logo and an inscription recognizing the Library’s impact on the Huntington Beach community and beyond.

Upon City Council approval, staff will proceed with finalizing the design, ordering the plaque, and coordinate the installation.  A re-dedication ceremony will be planned to celebrate the occasion.
