Statement of Issue:
These resolutions must be adopted at the same City Council meeting in order to call for and consolidate with the County of Orange to conduct the November 3, 2026, General Municipal Election (election of four members of the City Council and a City Attorney).
Financial Impact:
Funds totaling $315,000 have been budgeted in FY 2026/27 Election Account No. 10010201.69505 Staff to return to Council if actual election costs exceed the budgeted amount.

A) Adopt Resolution No. 2026-29, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, calling for the holding of a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the election of certain officers as required by the provisions of the Laws of the State of California Relating to Charter Cities;" and,
B) Adopt Resolution No. 2026-28, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange, California, to consolidate a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with the Statewide General Election to be held on the date pursuant to ? 10403 of the Elections Code."
