Statement of Issue:
Each year the Division of Boating and Waterways offers funding opportunities to public agencies to enhance, rehabilitate, and improve public access and accommodations for the boating public. The grant is competitive and is awarded based on the funds available and demonstrated need. If awarded, funds will be appropriated to enhance and rehabilitate the City's public dock and facilities located adjacent to the Warner Fire Station at 3841 Warner Avenue. The grant will also fund improvements and rehabilitation of the Marine Safety docks.
Financial Impact:
The City is requesting up to $1,500,000 from Division of Boating and Waterways to fund the enhancement and rehabilitation of the City's public dock and Marine Safety docks located at 3841 Warner Avenue. Should the City be awarded the grant from Division of Boating and Waterways, staff will return to the City Council at a future meeting with a request to accept the grant award and appropriate funds.
