Statement of Issue:
The Public Works Maintenance Supervisor classification is assigned to the Public Works Department at the City and is represented by the Management Employees' Organization (MEO). Modification to the class specification is requested in accordance with Personnel Rule 12 regarding amendments to the City's Classification Plan.

Analysis:
The modification requested to the Public Works Maintenance Supervisor job class specification is recommended to remove the requirement of a PC 832 Powers of Arrest certification for the Street Maintenance assignment. The requested modification is intended to update the classification to reflect current and consistent job requirements. This update does not materially change the fundamental nature of the work performed.

The Public Works Department has collaborated with Human Resources on the recommended change, and MEO has reviewed the proposed change.
