Statement of Issue:
At the September 15, 2026 City Council Meeting, staff was directed to return with updated information regarding the Newland House Museum & Water Tower Restoration Project (CC1788) for consideration at the October 6, 2026 City Council Meeting.
Bids for Newland House Museum & Water Tower Restoration, CC1788 were publicly opened on May 20, 2026. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid and award a construction contract to Newbuild Construction and Restoration, Inc. in the amount of $628,600.
Financial Impact:
The total project cost for the Newland House Museum & Water Tower Restoration is $673,080.40, as itemized below:

Staff is requesting that City Council appropriate additional funding in the amount of $101,114.80 from the Infrastructure Fund (314) to cover the total project cost. The requested appropriation will be funded from FY 2025-26 carryover funds creating a net zero impact to the Infrastructure Fund Balance.
