Statement of Issue:
The Information Technology Manager classification is assigned to the Information Services Department at the City and is represented by the Management Employees Organization (MEO). Modifications to the class specification are requested in accordance with Personnel Rule 12 regarding amendments to the City's classification plan.

Do not approve the updates to the job class specification and direct staff accordingly.

Analysis:
Modification to the Information Technology Manager specification is recommended to: 1) update the Supervision Received and Exercised section, 2) update the Distinguishing Characteristics section, 3) include driving language as a part of the Essential Duties section, 4) edit the duties when assigned to "Systems", 5) edit the "Knowledge of" section 6) standardize the language under the "Licenses/Certifications" section, 7) update language under "Special Conditions." The requested modifications are intended to update the classification to reflect current and consistent job requirements and standardize regularly used language amongst classifications. The current pay grade remains the same per the MEO MOU.

The Information Services Department has collaborated with Human Resources on the recommended changes, and MEO has reviewed the proposed changes.
