Statement of Issue:
The City previously entered into an On-Call Engineering Services agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. to provide third-party technical support related to the Ascon Landfill site. Staff is requesting City Council approval of a contract amendment to extend the contract term for two additional years in order to continue providing these services to the community and to City staff.

Financial Impact:
No additional compensation is being sought for this contract term extension. Sufficient funds are available in the City's operating budget.

Analysis:
Residents have expressed a need for more information regarding the ongoing cleanup efforts at the closed Ascon Landfill site at the corner of Magnolia and Hamilton. Though the clean-up effort is led by Ascon, the City - in an effort to help local residents understand the environmental clean-up process being conducted by Ascon at the landfill site, previously hired HDR Engineering, Inc. to act as an independent, third-party technical advisor to the community and staff. In addition to providing regular reports to City staff regarding on-going work, HDR Engineering, Inc. also performs site visits, attends meetings with stakeholders and the Department of Toxic Substance Control, and responds to resident's quest...
