Statement of Issue:
On October 5, 2021, the City Council approved the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for a traffic signal coordination project along Bolsa Avenue. The agreement is currently set to expire on December 31, 2026. Because OCTA has not yet completed the project, Amendment No. 1 is needed to extend the term of the agreement through December 31, 2027.
Financial Impact:
Funding to cover the City's local match of the project costs has been budgeted in the Traffic Congestion Relief Fund, Account 21990426.82700. No further appropriation is requested for this action.

Alternative Action(s):
Do not authorize approval of Amendment No.1 to the Cooperative Agreement and provide directions to staff to amend the terms of the agreement. Without approval of the amendment this project will terminate on December 31, 2026, and the City will lose access to the OCTA's traffic signal timing support for this corridor.
