Statement of Issue:
The Police Department is seeking to create the job classification of Real Time Crime Center Specialist.
Staff requests the Personnel Commission approve the recommendation in accordance with Personnel Rule 12 regarding amendments to the City’s Classification Plan.

Analysis:
The Real Time Crime Center Specialist classification will provide responsible and complex support to assigned personnel in the Police Department Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) by utilizing available technology and information systems. They will participate in proactive monitoring of available resources to aid in the prevention of crime. This position will perform job duties necessary to fulfill the City’s operational goals and objectives. The classification is FLSA non-exempt - Technicians and will be represented by the Huntington Beach Municipal Teamsters (HBMT).
The pay range recommendation is based upon internal and external classification comparisons. The recommended compensation was determined in accordance with Personnel Rule 12-1 Assigning Positions to Appropriate Ranges and Pay Plans.
In collaboration with the Police Department, Human Resources has created the job classification, and HBMT has reviewed the proposed job classification.
