Analysis:

The Harbour Commission is a seven-member advisory board to the City Council in matters pertaining to Huntington Harbour, its beaches, facilities, and parks.  The Commission advises on issues concerning waterway safety, general harbor infrastructure, water quality, usage, and Municipal Code amendments.  The Harbour Commission also cooperates with other governmental agencies and civic groups in the advancement of Huntington Harbour, including recreational planning, under direction of the City Council.

The terms of two Harbour Commissioners, Van Vu and Diane Wood, expire on December 31, 2024, and they have requested re-appointment for a second four-year term.  Their applications are attached and the City Council Liaisons to the Harbour Commission, Mayor Gracey Van Der Mark and Mayor Pro Tem Pat Burns, reviewed the applications and recommend that they be appointed to an additional term through December 31, 2028.
