Analysis:

The Friends of the Huntington Beach Public Library (FOTL) are community volunteers who support the Huntington Beach Public Library through volunteer work, Gift Shop and Used Book sales, fundraising activities, and by encouraging gifts, endowments, and bequests to the Library.  The group is instrumental in sustaining the Library as a vibrant and thriving learning center and cultural resource within the City.  Every year, the Friends approve and donate a significant amount in support of the purchase of books, ebooks, magazines, databases and other digital resources.  This year, the Friends approved a total donation of $238,000 specifically to support purchases for the Library collection.

Since 2002, FOTL has generously donated over $2.5 million to the Library for books, materials and equipment.  By accepting this latest donation of $138,000, FOTL’s contributions to the Library are just short of $3 million total since 2002.
