The Huntington Beach Historic Resources Board (HRB) is an advisory body to the City Council with a mission to encourage and promote programs and activities that enhance public awareness of community historic resources.
The HRB may consist of not less than seven and no more than nine members, per HBMC 2.107.101. The HRB currently has three vacancies with an on-going recruitment until the vacancies are filled. One application was received. City Council Liaisons Gracey Van Der Mark and Pat Burns reviewed the application and have made a recommendation to appoint Alan Ray to fill one vacancy. If appointed, his term would expire June 30, 2025, as this is filling a vacancy for a position mid-term.
Mr. Ray, a 20-year resident of Huntington Beach, has served on the Orange County Historical Society Board, Huntington Beach Planning Commission, and Huntington Beach Investment Advisory Board. While Mr. Ray served on the HB Planning Commission, he was selected to be the Commissions liaison to the Historic Resources Board.
