The Downtown Economic Development Committee (DTEDC) is a City Council sub-committee of the EDC, focused on issues related specifically to the Downtown area. The Committee is composed of the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, and past Mayor. The City established the DTEDC to allow the City Council members, Downtown BID and related businesses and City Staff ample discussion opportunities regarding programs and projects that impact the City's Downtown area. The meetings consist of the Downtown BID, 5th Street representatives, Visit Huntington Beach, Office of Business Development, Community Development, Special Events, Police, Community Services, and Public Works. The Downtown Economic Development Committee (DEDC) has been dissolved and merged with the Economic Development Committee (EDC) effective November 16, 2021.
