Statement of Issue:
City Council formed the Jet Noise Commission (JNC) on November 5, 2018 via Ordinance No. 4168, and appointed seven members to the newly established Commission with terms to expire on 12/31/2022. All seven Commissioners remain in good standing and seek reappointment for an additional term.

Financial Impact:
Not applicable.

Recommended Action:

A) Approve the reappointment of Keith Bohr, Phil Burtis, and Mario Tabernig to the Jet Noise Commission as approved by Council Liaisons, Barbara Delgleize and Rhonda Bolton, with terms set to expire on December 31, 2024; and/or,

B) Approve the reappointment of Jeff Morin, Chris Kunze, Michael Bourgeault, and David Porter to the Jet Noise Commission as approved by Council Liaisons, Barbara Delgleize and Rhonda Bolton, with terms set to expire on December 31, 2026.

Alternative Action(s):
Do not approve one or more reappointments, and direct staff accordingly.

Analysis:
Born out of the Air Traffic Noise Working Group, the JNC was established in 2018 to proactively address the increased aviation noise over the Huntington Beach community through a collaborative approach with airports, airlines, and the FAA.
