Statement of Issue:
Plans and Specifications for the Edwards / Varsity Tract Water Main Project, CC-1558, are in final preparation. Staff requests approval that the Edwards / Varsity Tract Water Main Replacement Project, CC-1558, is in general conformance with the previously approved CIP.
Funding Source:
Funds are available and are budgeted with Water Master Plan Fund, Account No. 50791006.82100.

Analysis:
The scope of the Edwards / Varsity Tract Water Main Replacement Project, consists of constructing 3,200 lineal feet of water improvements in seven streets. The Edwards / Varsity Tract has high ground water which has proven to be corrosive to the exterior surface of the existing water pipe lines. The proposed improvements will enhance the City’s water system reliability by installing pipe lines that are not susceptible to external degradation.
The Engineer’s cost estimate for this project is $1.6 Million. Construction is scheduled to begin July 2021 through May 2022.
