Statement of Issue:
The COVID-19 pandemic is creating severe financial strain on our local businesses. To help minimize the long-term impacts of COVID-19, the County of Orange has formed the Orange County Business Recovery Ad Hoc Committee to receive guidance from business leaders and medical professionals to help develop a safe way to re-open commercial businesses.

Analysis:
Per Mayor Semeta's request and the need for timeliness, a resolution to support the Orange County Board of Supervisors' efforts to re-open commercial businesses is being brought forth for the City Council's consideration.
The Orange County Board of Supervisors recently formed the Orange County Business Recovery Ad Hoc Committee. This Committee will bring Orange County business leaders and medical professionals together to assist the region in recovering from the impacts of COVID-19 closures. The Committee's joint expertise will help plan for the best method of re-opening commercial businesses, while ensuring safety measures are put into place to protect the County's residents and workforce.
